Instituto ELDORADO and Univesp Establish Partnership to Train Students in Various Technology Fields

Fifteen online and free learning tracks will be available across different technology careers.

São Paulo, November 4, 2024 – Instituto ELDORADO, a leading research and development institution in Brazil, has signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Virtual University of the State of São Paulo (Univesp)—a distance education institution maintained by the State Government and linked to the Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SCTI). This partnership aims to establish mutual collaboration to train students through initiatives within the TIC em Trilhas (ICT in Tracks) Partnership Network.

The TIC em Trilhas project offers training in various technology areas, expanding opportunities for those looking to enter this promising field, transition careers, or enhance their knowledge of the sector’s latest trends.

Through this partnership with Univesp, Instituto ELDORADO will offer 15 different learning tracks in various technology careers, such as Programming, Mobile Development, Interaction Design, Data & Analytics, AI, Game Development, Cybersecurity, and more. In total, more than 30,000 new slots will be available within the project, which has already certified over 12,000 students since 2022.

All courses are 100% free and conducted online, allowing students from any region of Brazil to access them. The courses are developed by experts with a focus on employability and adopt a hands-on approach, ensuring that students not only receive certification but also gain practical skills that can help them secure job opportunities in the field.

TIC em Trilhas is part of MCTI Futuro, a program by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation aimed at supporting large-scale national technology training initiatives. With funding from PPI-Softex, the project is executed by renowned universities and research centers across Brazil’s innovation ecosystem, including Instituto ELDORADO, which also pioneered the initiative.

The project was created to help train professionals in technology, a field with high demand and attractive career opportunities. To address the shortage of qualified professionals, TIC em Trilhas offers training in key areas with high growth potential, such as programming, artificial intelligence, data analysis, 5G networks, web and mobile development, design, game development, and other emerging fields.

Enrollment is now open through an exclusive link for Univesp students or via ticemtrilhas.org.br for the general public. Once registered, participants automatically receive access to the courses and can begin their studies immediately.

According to Roberto Soboll, Superintendent of Instituto ELDORADO, the TIC em Trilhas project is a valuable effort to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with education, fostering digital skills and reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to training since its inception. “Our partnership with Univesp is an important channel to expand and reach even more students in a qualified manner through this project,” he stated during the congress.

Univesp President, Professor Marcos Borges, highlighted that the partnership will ensure students have access to modern courses tailored to market demands. “Students in Computing, Business Administration, Engineering, and even Teaching degrees can participate. As noted in various studies, the technology sector in Brazil is one of the fastest-growing and plays a key role in innovation and digital transformation. Our students will have the opportunity for complementary training to develop new solutions and pursue promising career opportunities,” he emphasized.

About the Initiative

The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI) through resources from Law No. 8.248/91 and coordinated by Softex. Its goal is to prepare and train students and professionals for careers in technology, addressing the industry’s need for skilled workers.
