The importance of acoustic tests
The measurement of acoustic quantities has been increasingly important and required due to the search to provide the user, consumer and worker with an environment that is not only safe but comfortable.
Some regulations in Brazil already require that the noise level information is clearly identified in the products, as is the case of the Noise Seal Program.
ELDORADO’s state-of-the-art laboratories
With a volume of approximately 220m³, the acoustic test laboratory has a semi-anechoic chamber, characterized according to ISO 3745 (precision level) in the range of 600 Hz to 10 kHz and according to ISO 3744 (engineering level , in the range of 100 Hz to 22 kHz).
The existing instrumentation allows the testing of pressure level and sound power in equipment up to 2m³, with an overall background noise level close to 12 dB (A), measuring peak values of up to 162 dB re 20μPa.
In addition to the equipment for measuring noise in any type of product, the laboratory has 2 systems for electroacoustic characterization in telecommunications devices (fixed and mobile telephony). It also has ear simulators standardized by ITU-T P.57 type 1, type 3.2 (low leak and high leak) and type 3.3.
A torso simulator can be used for characterization of both telephony devices and ear products.
For IT equipment, it is possible to characterize the noise emission of these types of equipment, usually for confrontation with the user’s acoustic comfort limits, according to ABNT NBR 10152.
