Initiative from Eldorado Institute in partnership with HP aims the training in Logic Programming and Java
Registration to a free course in Information Technology (IT) and in Logic Programming aimed towards people with hearing disabilities is now open. The course, which is an initiative of Eldorado Research Institute, in partnership with HP, will last for three months, starting on September 30. Classes will be given with the support of a Sign Language interpreter at the Technological Park TECNOPUC in Porto Alegre.
Registry can be made through the address http://www.oficinadofuturopcd.com.br . Candidates must have a minimum age of 18 and it’s desirable to have attended High School. Additional information can be obtained through the e-mail oficinapcd@eldoradoorgbr.wpcomstaging.com or through the telephone +55 (19) 3757-3472.
According to the Education Department manager at Eldorado, Luis Rogério Almeida, the aim of the course is to increase the chances of people with hearing disabilities to be absorbed by the work market. “Besides technical training in operational systems, students will attend lectures on ethics and corporate culture”, he says.
Since 2007, Eldorado Research Institute hosts a training program addressed to people with disabilities of different kinds – physical, visual and cognitive. It is about a program with a social emphasis, without any economic interests, made in partnership with IT businesses. “We have trained more than 300 people”, says Almeida. Up to last year, all the courses of this kind were held in Eldorado’s headquarters at Campinas (São Paulo). From this year on, Eldorado starts to expand the program to other units, starting from Porto Alegre.
