Eduardo X. Miqueles received his Ph.D in applied mathematics from the University of Campinas, São Paulo/Brazil. He is in charge of the scientific computing group from the Brazilian Synchrotron Laboratory (LNLS), developing image processing algorithms for several experimental stations, including SIRIUS, the new 4th generation Brazilian synchrotron.

Image Reconstruction for Sirius

Some challenges for image reconstruction from projections at Sirius, the new 4th generation Brazilian synchrotron will be presented. High-performance computing algorithms using distribution of data through MPI/CUDA will be discussed, from embedded systems like Nvidia/Jetson to powerful servers equipped with the new Nvidia/V100, exploring the mathematical tools for image reconstruction.
